Finn believes every day should include a little imagination. When children visit the Brown Bag Deli, he fills their heads with unicorns, adventures and happy surprises.

Franc Hofgarten

Franc is unlike any other gnome in German Village - a soft, plushy gnome not carved from wood like the rest. He continually sits in the gardens of Frank Fetch Park because he’s so lazy and relaxed…..not a care in the world and that’s the way he likes it and why the neighborhood loves him..

Frieda has spent generations admiring colorful windows. The other gnomes say she collects bits of sunlight and turns them into stories of beauty, craftsmanship and community.

G. Max Schmidt

G. Max stands proud guard over the Bahama Mamas, the windbeutel, and — most importantly — the schokolade next door at Schmidt's Fudge Haus. He'll tell you the fudge gives him energy for his real job: roaming German Village after dark in his lederhosen, checking in on every last one of his fellow gnomes.

Greta celebrates the friendships, traditions and stories that have filled this gathering place for generations. She honors the Gall family and the welcoming spirit that makes the Hey Hey a neighborhood favorite.

Hans and the stylists inside the Hair Haus enjoy artistic transformations that require precise layers, vibrant colors, and sleek movement. So, whether it is a blowout mimicking the curved shape of wings or a literal “butterfly haircut”, they love concepts that deal with shape, symmetry, and evolution.

Hilda the milkmaid remembers when 19th century immigrants built the Village. Today, instead of milking cows, she watches over Schwartz Castle reminding visitors that every landmark has a story and every generation leaves its mark.

Howie believes that the best shops offer more than goods. They suggest friendship, laughter and a sense of belonging. The other gnomes say he learned that lesson from two beloved Village shopkeepers and has been sharing it ever since.

Wolfgang is the epitome of a bibliophile….someone who loves, collects and reads books! Thus, he is the perfect representative of this famous 32-room bookstore where he easily winds his way through the maze-like layout with its narrow passages in this pre-Civil War building. But, his favorite spot to read is in this outdoor garden and where he’s ready to greet other devoted readers.
