John Clark

John Clark and his wife Jan moved to Columbus and into German Village almost 35 years ago. The Kentucky native is a former broadcast journalist, retail advertising creative and magazine editor. John’s interest in local history and writing quickly brought him to the attention of the German Village Society, for whom he has volunteered for many writing assignments, research projects and video productions. He has also written three local history books and is a regular contributor to the (614) family of local and regional publications.

Larry Hamill Photography

Larry Hamill is a Columbus native and Ohio State alumnus who has worked as a self-employed artist since earning his BFA in Painting, Drawing & Expanded Arts. His connection to German Village stretches back to 1976, when he moved to Deshler Avenue and the neighborhood became his studio. A devoted photographer, he has shared new work online daily for more than twelve years. For Project Gnome, Hamill carved every gnome in the collection and painted two of them: Erasmus Loop and Beowulf Plankster.

Valley Construction

Valley Construction has spent more than 40 years mastering specialty construction and proving that what you build matters as much as how you build it. Guided by humility, resourcefulness, and a firm belief that every challenge holds the potential for a better outcome, Valley's 1,400-person team has completed more than 8,000 projects across seven regional offices. Their investment in Project Gnome reflects a mission that's always extended well beyond the job site.

VYNE Creative

VYNE Creative is a strategic creative agency that helps organizations tell better stories through design, copywriting, and brand strategy. Project Gnome is a labor of love: VYNE designed and built this website pro bono in celebration of the German Village Garten Club's 60th anniversary. Some projects you take because they're good work. This one they took because it's good work for a good cause.
